14th August 25 Daily Market Report

Pre-Market Pulse – Thursday, 14 August 2025

Fear & Greed Index

The Fear & Greed Index remains at 18.53, firmly in Extreme Fear territory. This low sentiment reading highlights ongoing investor caution despite recent market upticks. Historically, such levels can set the stage for short-term rebounds, but sustained global and domestic uncertainties keep risk appetite subdued.

How Indian & Asian Markets Started Today

Indian equities opened flat with GIFT Nifty at 24,690.5, signaling a muted start after yesterday’s gains. On August 13, Sensex closed at 80,539.91 (+0.38%) and Nifty 50 at 24,619.35 (+0.54%), both posting higher lows for the third straight session.
In Asia, sentiment was mixed. Nikkei 225 dropped sharply (-1.37%) on profit-booking, while Hang Seng gained +0.24% and Kospi edged up +0.01%. US markets closed higher, with Dow Jones +1.04%, S&P 500 +0.32%, and Nasdaq +0.14%, setting fresh record highs for S&P 500 and Nasdaq.

FII & DII Last Day’s Performance & Intentions

On August 13, FIIs sold ₹3,644.4 crore, extending their selling streak as they remain cautious over global interest rate and currency movements. DIIs bought ₹5,623.8 crore, continuing their accumulation in large-cap banking, energy, and infrastructure stocks. This consistent domestic support has prevented deeper corrections.
